Two OKWU Softball Stars Named NFCA All-Americans

Two Oklahoma Wesleyan softball standouts have been named NFCA All-Americans.
Brooklyn Purtell, who was named a second team NAIA All-American last week was named a first-team All-American for the NFCA, and Maria Fory was named a second team NFCA All-American.
Purtell and Fory led the way for a Lady Eagle softball team that finished 39-13 this spring, they finished second in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) standings.
For Purtell, she batted .440 with 14 homeruns and 69 RBI in 48 games. Purtell transferred to OKWU after her freshman season at Oklahoma Baptist University. She talks about her three years as a Lady Eagle.
Purtell was the KCAC Player of the Year this spring and a first team all-conference selection.
Fory led the team in batting average at .452 in 47 games. She finished with 13 homeruns and 52 RBI, and was the only player to finish with 70 hits or more (71).
Fory was named KCAC Newcomer of the Year and was also a first team all-conference selection.
