Five Dewey Track Stars Named All-State and All-Star

Five Dewey track and field standouts have received all-state recognition.
Camrin Jones, Keidon Holt, Kavery Weathers and Londyn Bond, four athletes that each won a state championship at the 3A state meet in Catoosa earlier this month, have received all-state recognition from the Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA).
Jones won state championships in high jump and long jump, Bond won a state championship in shot put, Holt won a state championship in 110-meter hurdles and Weathers won the state title in 300-meter hurdles.
Additionally, Kyla Overton was named an Oklahoma Cross Country and Track Coaches Association (OCCTCA) All-Star. Overton placed fifth in shot put at the state meet this year, marking the second season in a row that Overton has placed in the top five in the event at the state meet.
Jones, Overton and Holt were seniors this season. On a track team of about 15 seniors, head coach Daniel Close talks about the impact the senior class made this year.
Each Dewey track team finished inside the top-10 overall at the state meet.
