Checking in With Dewey Track and Field

Brian McSweeney
Dewey track and field is a handful of meets in this spring and both Bulldogger teams are off to solid starts.
Dewey is three meets into the season. They opened things up on March 24 with a home meet before going to Bartlesville later in the week. In Dewey's first meet of the season, the boys finished first overall. The girls finished second overall. Dewey's latest meet was in Okemah on Friday.
On top of 15 seniors combined on the track this season, head coach Daniel Close talks about some younger athletes on the girl's side that have made an impact.
On the boy's side, Dewey's calling card has come from a solid core of hurdlers. Keidon Holt leads that charge after finishing state runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles at the 3A state meet last year.
Dewey track and field returns on Thursday for a meet at Oklahoma Union.
