Caney Valley (OK) Trojan boy's basketball saw their season come to a close last week in the consolation regional rounds.

With a very young team this season led by just one senior in CJ Breese, the Trojans nearly tripled their win total from last season. Caney Valley turned a 6-19 season last year into a 17-9 campaign this season.

Head coach Tug Brinker talks about the biggest areas of improvement for his team.

The Trojans hosted a district championship game this year after their successful regular season, but came up short in the postseason with an 0-2 playoff record. The Trojans fell to Nowata in the first round then to Pawhuska in an elimination game during regionals.

Next season, Caney Valley will return their entire starting five and a stellar supporting cast that will get a year older and gain another year of experience.

Brinker says the future is bright for Caney Valley.

The Caney Valley Trojans finished the 2025-26 campaign with an overall record of 17-9, and 4-4 in the Northeast Valley Conference.
