Big Win for Bruin Guys v. Stillwater

Bartlesville High boys’ and girls’ basketball wrapped up their District play on Friday night at home against Stillwater for senior night at Bruin Field House.
It was a pair of entertaining games, as the girls lost but the Bruin guy’s won a big one against the Pioneers.
On the girl’s side a tight game turned into a double-digit lead for Stillwater down the stretch, as the Pioneers completed the season sweep over BHS with a 47-36 win.
For the second straight game against Stillwater, Bartlesville was held to less than 40 points.
Two of their three losses while scoring in the 30s this season came against Stillwater.
Game was close throughout the first three quarters. This nice pass from Sami Shaeffer to Shaylyn Ishem kept it that way in the first half.
Lady Bruins drop to 13-9 overall and finish at 6-8 in 6A District 3, which is good for sixth place.
On the guy’s side it was an instant classic, and one of the better Bruin wins in years.
BHS topped Stillwater 52-49.
Bartlesville built a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, only for it to dwindle away in the final minutes. The Bruin’s made just enough free throws to grab the win.
This steal and bucket from Dennis Duncan came during Bartlesville building its lead.
Missed three throws and turnovers gave Stillwater some hope in the final minutes. The Pioneers tied it with less than a minute left. But three Duncan free throws proved to be the difference.
Here was the final call as heard on KWON.
Bruin guys get their third District win and ninth win overall this season, which is three times each of the past two years. BHS guys are 9-14 overall.
Both teams have their final double-header of the season at Rejoice Christian on Tuesday night.
