Pawhuska Has Tough Losses at Grove

Ty Loftis
It was a rough night for both the Pawhuska Huskies and Lady Huskies, as each team fell by single digits on the road at Grove.
On the girl's side, Grove got the best of Pawhuska, 49-47. Brooklyn Miles was fouled shooting a three-pointer with .5 seconds remaining. The shot didn't fall and Miles made two of three free throws.
The Lady Huskies trailed by eight with less than a minute remaining, but Miles kept her team in the fight.
Pawhuska held a 27-18 halftime lead, but a cold start to the second half aided the Lady Ridgerunners in the comeback. Miles finished with a game high 29 points. Pawhuska drops to 17-5 on the year.
The boys lost a hard fought 52-45 game to Grove. After an early Pawhuska lead, the Ridgerunners took control and led 30-23 at halftime. The lead in the second half got to as much as ten.
Darien West finished with a game high 17 points and helped trim the lead to four a couple times in the final frame, but the Huskies were unable to get over the hump. Jenson Snodgrass added 13 points.
The Huskies fall to 12-10 on the year. Up next for Pawhuska is senior night on Tuesday against Pawnee. That is a game you can hear on 99.1 FM KPGM and streaming on KPGMTV.com.
