Nowata Runs Past South Coffeyville

Nowata basketball dominated on Thursday night at home against South Coffeyville, 65-21.
The Ironmen opened the game up on a 12-2 run to immediately pull away, and only increased the lead further from there. This three-pointer from Talon Thompson stretched the lead to 10 for the first time.
Thompson had 11 of Nowata's first 14 points. Nowata turned a 13-point lead at the end of the first quarter into a 34-point lead at halftime. The Ironmen allowed one point in the second quarter.
In the girls game that got the night started, the Lady Ironmen picked up their fourth win of the season over the Lady Lions, 45-29. Nowata started off the night on a 23-4 run to control the pace the rest of the night.
On the guys side, the win for Nowata ends a three-game skid, the Ironmen are 8-6. Nowata returns on Friday night for homecoming against Claremore Christian. The guys will tip-off first at 6 p.m. with the Lady Ironmen to follow around 7:30 p.m.
The South Coffeyville guys fall to 1-7 with the loss, the Lady Lions are 4-6.
