Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is back in action Wednesday night for a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) doubleheader against Ottawa University.
Both Eagle clubs are coming off a split with Friends University on Saturday evening. The Lady Eagles dropped their game by eight, the men won by one.
On the women's side, the Lady Eagles have just one conference win in 10 games. They are 5-11 overall and 1-9 in KCAC play. Head coach Heidi Messer talked about her team showing up with a renewed energy.
On the other side, Ottawa enters the contest 9-7 overall and 4-6 in KCAC play.
On the men's side, OKWU has won a few entertaining ballgames to maintain the top spot in the KCAC standings. The Eagles got out of Leavenworth, Kan. last week with a five point win, and survived Friends University on Saturday evening with a one point win.
The Eagles are 14-2 overall and 9-1 in the KCAC. With a handful of close games that have broken OKWU's way lately, head coach Donnie Bostwick talked about his team's ability to play their best.
Ottawa enters the contest at 9-7 overall and 5-5 in KCAC play.
The Lady Eagles will get the evening started at 6 p.m. with the men to follow around 8 p.m. Both games can be heard on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
