Caney Valley Lady Trojan basketball is one of the top high school teams in the area.

Going into the break, the Lady Trojans are 8-0 overall and ranked No. 17 in class 2A. Caney Valley has seven wins this season by 25 points or more with a one-point win over 3A Dewey as well.

Head coach Deric Longan talked about picking up momentum through tournament season in mid-to-late January.

Defense has been a calling card for the Lady Trojans this season. Caney Valley has allowed over 40 points once so far this season. They have held two teams this season under 20 points.
