Nowata basketball is back in action on Tuesday evening for a non-conference game against Afton.

The Ironmen are coming off a 1-2 stint in the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament last week in a sixth place finish. Nowata currently sits at 3-2.

Nowata has leaned on their defense to win games early in the season. Head coach Derick Ott talked about what he's seen from his team defensively.

On paper, Nowata has had some solid nights on offense. Through five games, Nowata has scored 60 points or more three times and has broken the 70-mark twice. With a newer look offensively coming to Nowata this season, Ott talked about how his team has adjusted to the new style.

Afton enters the contest 4-1. Their only loss is to Ketchum back on Dec. 2, 62-43.
