Nowata and OKU Basketball Face Off

Nowata County's biggest rivalry hits the basketball court on Friday night, when the Nowata Ironmen host the Oklahoma Union Cougars.
Last season the two teams met three times. Nowata went 2-1 against the Cougars, with two of the three games decided by one possession.
The Ironmen are coming off a 75-66 win over the Caney Valley Trojans on Tuesday night in Ramona.
Going into the first matchup of the season against OKU, head coach Derick Ott talked about the nature of the rivalry.
Oklahoma Union enters the contest 0-1 overall after an 87-40 loss to Dewey back on Nov. 21. With a long time off in between games and a young group this season, head coach Riley Duncan talked about the approach during the extended time off.
The Cougars and Ironmen tip-off in Nowata around 7:30 p.m. on Friday night. Coverage can be heard on 104.9 - KRIG and KRIGTV.com.
