Bartlesville High basketball is 1-0 on both the girl’s and guy’s side, as both BHS teams beat up on Rejoice Christian this past Thursday.

The Lady Bruins played a high-flying style of offense in a 72-68 victory over the Eagles.

BHS scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, just like the Bruin guys, en route, to a big offensive night. Bartlesville made seven second half three pointers in the win.

Head coach Justyn Shaw is back for his fifth season, and talks about what the Bruins did differently on offense in the second half.

It was a big night for all four of the Lady Bruin’s seniors. Cadence Gray and Emma Zimmerman were both in double-figures. Kenzie Denny lead BHS with 24 points. Meanwhile it was another great all-around night for Sami Sheaffer. Bartlesville’s leader had 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Shaeffer is headed to Central Arkansas for her college hoops, she officially signed two weeks ago. She talks about her choice to sign before the season, and what she liked about the Sugar Bears.

BHS will next be in action at Broken Arrow in a double-header in conference play on Tuesday. The Lady Bruins will then head to Carthage, Missouri for tournament action a week from Thursday-Saturday.

If you missed the interview with Shaw or Shaeffer, we have it archived from this past Saturday’s Coach’s Breakfast Broadcast online at KWONTV.com.
