Eric Morris is set to take over as the new football coach at Oklahoma State University, this according to the News on 6. Morris is currently the head coach at North Texas University and is expected to stay with the team through the end of 2025.

Morris has North Texas sitting at a school best 10-1 and the Mean Green are poised to play for an American Conference Championship with a win against Temple on Friday. He has an overall record of 21-15 while at North Texas. Morris was previously an offensive coordinator at Texas Tech, where he coached Patrick Mahomes.

Oklahoma State Athletic Director Chad Weiberg had the following to say on the new hire:

"Today begins the next era of Oklahoma State football. Coach Morris has proven his ability to build and lead winning football programs. He has consistently identified, recruited and developed some of the best players in college."

Morris replaces Mike Gundy, who was fired in September.
