Bartlesville High basketball is 1-0 on both the girl’s and guy’s side, as BHS swept Rejoice Christian in a double-header on Thursday night to begin the Bruins’ basketball season.

The Bruin guys won only three games a year ago, but also started last season at 1-0. Bartlesville also got the first win for head coach Jake Christenson, who took the job this past offseason after the departure of former Bruin Tommy DeSalme.

Christenson says the guys overcame some adversity in a 26-point win over the Eagles.

Bartlesville scored 24 points in the fourth quarter en route to a 51-25 win over Rejoice.

Bruin guard Dennis Duncan says he was glad that everyone had fun during the first game.

Both Bartlesville teams are off this week and back into action for their first District and conference double-header at Broken Arrow on Dec. 2

The Bruin guys then head to a tournament in Cleveland, while the Lady Bruins will be in Carthage, Missouri starting on Dec. 4.
