Plenty of high school football games on Friday night, but we had a great appetizer on Thursday evening in Morrison, as the Pawhuska Huskies had to overcome a halftime deficit to defeat the Wildcats.

Pawhuska put together a great second half effort to come back and beat Morrison, 30-20.

The Huskies outscored Morrison 22-0 in the fourth quarter to steal the road victory.

Trailing 20-8 at halftime, the defense didn’t allow a point in the second half. The Wildcats didn’t cross midfield in the second half. Despite this, the Husky offense was still struggling to get going heading into the fourth quarter.

This quarterback keeper from Kane Foreman in the early stages of the fourth quarter made it a one-score game.

The Pawhuska defense forced a three and out. This is when the Husky offense yet to work once again. This time it was the work of running back Vann Wildcat, who not only led his team down the field, but was rewarded with the game-winning touchdown.

On Morrison’s ensuing drive, Jayden Henley forced a fumble, which the Huskies recovered. Wildcat tacked on another touchdown to put the icing on the cake. Jenson Snodgrass was responsible for Pawhuska’s lone touchdown in the first half.

The win assures Pawhuska of a first-round home playoff game next Friday. Several scenarios are still in play so it is to be determined as to who the Huskies will play.

Regardless, we will carry that game for you on 99.1 FM KPGM and KPGMTV.com.
