It was a rough night for the Pawhuska Huskies, as the fell to the Tonkawa Buccaneers, 32-8.

That is the first loss of the season for Pawhuska. It also marks the first time in coach Matt Hennesy's tenure that the offense was held scoreless, as their lone touchdown came on a kick return from Logan Cass while trailing 25-0 late in the third quarter.

While a single play doesn't determine a game, it can shape how a game may unfold. That is exactly what occurred when Tonkawa scored their first touchdown on a fumble recovery, early in the second quarter.

The Pawhuska offense was forced to punt on the next possession and Tonkawa took a 14-0 lead with a little less than a minute remaining. After failing a fourth down attempt with 30 seconds left, the Bucs were able to tack on a 36-yard field goal heading into halftime.

Pawhuska has a bye next week before returning to action for a home game with Quapaw
