The Pawhuska Huskies met Pawnee in a major district matchup with playoff implications and the Huskies came away with a 42-40 win. It was a game with several big plays, none bigger than the final of the game when the defense came away with its only turnover of the night with less than a minute remaining.

Several players contributed in Friday's win, including do-it all player Jenson Snodgrass. Here he is taking it 60-yards on a quarterback keeper to break an 8-8 tie early.

Following a Vann Wildcat touchdown run, which gave the Huskies a 22-8 lead, Pawnee used the remainder of the first half and scored on a fourth and goal from the 3.

In the second half, momentum shifted and Pawnee took a 32-22 lead, but this slow developing screen to Snodgrass trimmed the lead to one score.

The Huskies converted the two-point conversion and in the process a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty was called against Pawnee. This set up an onside kick opportunity that Pawhuska recovered. They went down to take the lead on that drive. From there, the Husky defense took care of the rest.

Pawhuska stays undefeated at 6-0 on the season. The Huskies play at Tonkawa this Friday before getting a late season bye. That game can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM and KPGMTV.com.
