Woodland Takes Advantage of Key Injuries to Beat Barnsdall

The Woodland Cougars celebrated homecoming in style Friday night, rolling to a dominant 50-0 victory over the Barnsdall Panthers. Woodland wasted no time setting the tone, scoring on their first four possessions and never looking back. The Cougars controlled the tempo on both sides of the ball, giving the home crowd plenty to cheer about as they picked up their third win of the season.
Barnsdall, meanwhile, struggled to find its rhythm offensively, largely due to a string of key injuries. The Panthers were without starting quarterback Lincoln Gott, backup quarterback Talen Bond, running backs Blaine Miller and Gavin Wood, and lineman Haydon Collins. With so many starters sidelined, Barnsdall was unable to sustain drives and fell behind early, unable to mount a comeback against Woodland’s balanced attack.
With the victory, Woodland improves to 3-2 overall and a perfect 2-0 in district play, putting themselves in a strong position moving forward. Barnsdall also sits at 3-2, but the Panthers have dropped their first two district matchups, leaving them searching for answers as they look to get healthy and bounce back next week.
