High school football Week No. 5 kicks off on Friday night across northeast Oklahoma, as many of our area clubs will have crucial games for their District seasons this evening.

At Bartlesville High the Bruins are trying to bounce back following a blowout loss at home against Sand Springs.

BHS has had some issues getting stops at times this fall, but the offense had some problems last week, too. Bartlesville had less than 40 yards in the first half with no first downs. A surprising result for a group of Bruins that had been averaging more than 450 yards a game through their first three contests.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about the message to the Bartlesville offense this week.

Sapulpa enters at 2-2. The Chieftains have been without their starting quarterback for most of the season and his status remains unclear heading into tonight’s game. Sapulpa is 1-0 in District play after a blowout win over Capitol Hill last week.

Wright says having a fast start will be key.

A 6:30 pregame with a 7:00 kick, we will have Bartlesville at Sapulpa for you on Friday evening on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.

Video coverage available on KWONTV.com. BHS is 0-4 on the year.
