Bartlesville Football Struggles vs. Sandites

It was a tough night for Bartlesville High football on Friday at Custer Stadium, as the Bruins fell to Sand Springs to begin District play.

The Sandites bit the Bruins 51-0.

Charles Page High scored touchdowns on each of their first five offense drives to put the game away early.

BHS managed only 35 yards of offense in the first half. Two of those first five CPHS TDs came on trick plays. A flea flicker and a double-pass accounted for scores of 60-yards or longer.

Still, Bartlesville showed some gumption in the second half. The Bruins main highlight of the evening came on a recovered onside kick to begin the second half.

Bartlesville then got going on defense.

The Bruins had two stops back-to-back against the Sandite starters in the 3rd quarter.

Despite three Bruin drives getting into Sand Springs territory, BHS was shut out for the first time since Oct. 17 of last season.

Bartlesville drops to 0-4 for the second straight year. The Bruins try for their first win at Sapulpa in District game No. 2 next week.
