Copan Shuts Out South Coffeyville in Homecoming Game

The Copan Hornets gave their homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about Friday night with a dominant 46-0 win over the South Coffeyville Lions. The Hornets set the tone from the very beginning, returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown to grab early momentum. By the second quarter, Copan extended its lead to 10-0 after forcing a safety, and from there, the Hornets never looked back.
Copan’s defense and special teams continued to shine, capitalizing on a South Coffeyville fumble that was recovered for a score and consistently putting the offense in strong field position. Quarterback play and ground attack mixed well, allowing the Hornets to build a commanding lead. Standout performances came from Zane Stricklin, Weston O’Rourke, and Teegan Caron, each making big contributions to keep Copan’s offense rolling and defense airtight.
For South Coffeyville, the night was filled with frustrations. The Lions struggled to find rhythm offensively, with several high snaps disrupting plays and penalties—particularly a handful of unsportsmanlike flags—stalling any chance of momentum. Despite flashes of effort, the miscues proved too costly against a sharp Copan team that took advantage at every opportunity. The Hornets walked away with a convincing victory, celebrating homecoming in style.
