As we venture into the fall we begin our Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week, as each Monday we will feature an area senior who is standing out both on and off the field.

This school year’s first athlete is Bartlesville High volleyball player Emma Parsley. Parsley has been a big part of one of the best runs in BHS volleyball history. The Lady Bruins are currently ranked 10th in 6A and are coming off a season where Bartlesville hosted a Regional.

Parsley talks about her volleyball career.

Parsley is a setter, and she says it was a former Lady Bruin standout Sydney Collins, who is now playing at Oklahoma Wesleyan, that served as a role model for her career.

As far as the future, Parsley says she is planning on heading to the University of Arkansas to study forensic science.

Emma talks about why that has interested her.

Bartlesville volleyball is coming off a tough 5-set loss to Owasso on the road last week. BHS is 15-10 and heads to 5A No. 6 Sapulpa on Tuesday.

Congrats to Emma Parsley, this week’s Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the week – Powered by Tri County Tech.
