The Barnsdall Panthers won a thriller on Friday night over the Nowata Ironmen at home, 37-36.

Barnsdall's night took a quick turn, after a 19-0 lead slipped away in the second quarter. After an offense that stalled out early in the ballgame, the Ironmen found their groove. Asiah Saxton took off for a 14-yard touchdown run to put Nowata in front.

The Ironmen held a 20-19 lead at the half, with both offenses continuing to tell the story in the final two quarters.

With under two minutes to go, down by three, the Ironmen found the endzone again with Saxton to take the lead back.

One play from scrimmage later, Tripp Barbee found the endzone for Barnsdall to deliver the final blow.

Barnsdall with the win improves to 3-0 on the season, Nowata falls to 0-4.

The Panthers return for Fairland to open district play at home next Friday night. Nowata returns home for their second district game against the Caney Valley Trojans. Nowata's game against Caney Valley can be heard on 104.9 - KRIG, with video coverage on KRIGTV.com.
