There are just a few teams in our area that have a bye week this week, but the Dewey Bulldoggers fall into that category before district play starts next week.

Dewey finished non-district play 1-2, with a win over Locust Grove in zero week. The Bulldoggers went into Checotah on Friday and fell to the Wildcats, 14-6.

Head coach Scott Sapulpa talked about a few things that held the Doggers back.

Dewey heads into their bye week with another tough opponent in Metro Christian coming up next. Metro is 2-0 on the season to this point with convincing wins over Chisholm and Cascia Hall.

Sapulpa talked about having the bye week right before the district opener.

Dewey goes on the road for Metro Christian on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
