The Caney Valley Trojans have a bye week this week before returning to the field next Thursday.

The Trojans had to cancel their game last Friday against Hulbert due to not having enough players to safely play the game. Head coach Derrick Hammer said it was a tough decision to cancel the game.

The Trojans have one game under their belt this fall, in a 36-8 loss to Barnsdall during zero week on Aug. 29. With a bye week, Caney Valley has a chance to hit the reset button and prepare for Cleveland's junior varsity team next Thursday.

Even on an off week, Hammer said the mindset doesn't change.

The Trojans will go on the road for Cleveland's JV team, with kickoff set at 7 p.m.
