Bartlesville High football again had its moments but ultimately couldn't overcome miscues in another non-District loss on Friday night at Custer Stadium.

BHS fell to Claremore 29-20.

The Zebras built a 22-point lead early in the 3rd quarter and never could complete a serious comeback.

A Bruin turnover inside their own 30 and a BHS pick inside the Zebra 5 late in the second quarter were back-breakers.

The teams traded touchdowns early. However, a Claremore two-point conversion kept them ahead from start to finish.

Quarterback Michael Kent was again fantastic. In the first quarter the sophomore found Boden Roberts for this catch that set up a TD.

A play later Daeton Stevens ran it in.

Claremore reeled off 21 unanswered before BHS started to comeback. A Bruin stop combined with another Stevens TD kept Bartlesville in it.

This TD from Roberts made things interesting.

The BHS two-point try would fail to keep it at a Claremore nine-point lead, effectively ending the game.

Roberts had a career night with nine catches for 133 yards, unofficially to earn out Patriot Auto Player of the Game honors.

BHS is off this Friday for a bye week. The Bruins take on Collinsville on the road on Sept. 19.
