Bruin Football Hosts Claremore

Week one of high school football kicks off on Friday night across the area. Temperatures are expected to stay cool with a slight chance of showers.
Bartlesville High will be back at home against Claremore for its second game of the season. BHS fell to Newcastle in a high-scoring affair this past Friday.
The biggest bright spot was probably the Bruin offense, which accounted for more than 400 yards in first-year offensive coordinator Brandon Webb’s debut.
Head coach Harry Wright says Webb’s first game went well.
The biggest concern for BHS comes on special teams, where Bartlesville gave up 21 points last week. Two kick returns for touchdowns and a blocked punt led to scores for Newcastle.
Wright talks about cleaning up that side of the ball.
Claremore has won each of the last two meetings in the series by a combined three points. The Bruins are looking for their first non-District win in three seasons. The Zebras did not play a week ago and are coming off a 9-3 campaign.
A 6:30 pregame with a 7:00 kick from Custer Stadium, Bartlesville hosts Claremore on KWON and KWONTV.com.
