The Caney Valley Trojans officially kick things off this week with a different look of Trojan football.

Caney Valley enters the 2025 season under first year head coach Derrick Hammer, who joins the Trojans from Broken Bow. Alongside a first year head coach is a fairly young unit of players behind him.

Hammer talked about the advantages of having a younger group.

Caney Valley is set to open the 2025 season Friday night on the road against Barnsdall. Kylee Sweeney enters his 10th season with the Panthers, who went 6-5 a season ago and made the playoffs. Barnsdall beat the Trojans when the two teams last season in Ramona.
