Nowata held a "Meet the Ironmen" event on Thursday night at Nowata High School, giving fans and the local community a chance to get eyes on the different age group football teams representing Ironmen Country, as well as various fall sports already in full swing.

Each team got a chance to run onto the field through the giant red inflatable helmet in front of the locker room.

Head varsity coach Chance Juby talked about the community coming out to support Nowata athletics.

Nowata football began fall practices earlier this week, and will get to break the pads out on Friday, one week before their scrimmage against Ketchum.

Juby talked about the excitement of putting the pads on for practice.

Nowata opens their season on Aug. 29 on the road against Pawhuska.
