First week of high school football practice is about to wrap up on Friday. There will be many schools with intersquad scrimmages this weekend, while others had a padded practice on Thursday night at midnight.

At Bartlesville High, the Bruins will show off all levels of their football program during their annual Meet the Bruins event at Custer Stadium. A ton of youth football guys will take the field leading up to a late-night varsity scrimmage starting just before 9:00.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about the evening.

Wright says the scrimmage this evening should be a milestone for the high school guys, as none of them have gotten to wear pads for workouts since team camp in May. 

The performance of certain spots on Friday evening will likely influence some playing time during Bartlesville’s only real scrimmage of the preseason, this coming Thursday against Bishop Kelley.

Varsity guys slated to take the field at 8:45 tonight, youth football players begin their action at 5:00.
