Copan Veterans Standing Out

Copan another program with a new head coach this fall. Trenton Kallenberger will have his third practice with the Hornets on Wednesday.

Copan hosted a playoff game last year thanks to a large class of 2026. The Hornets lose their quarterback out of that class, Kane Foreman, who transferred to Pawhuska. However Copan returns all the other seniors for this fall’s squad.

Kallenberger says during five-on-five summer sessions that Copan hosted, it was mostly those veterans that stood out.

Copan still expects about 18-22 guys in the program this season. It has continued to be a remarkable run and consistency over the past 4-5 years for a town that had trouble fielding a football team not long ago.

Kallenberger says in addition to the older guys at five-on-five, younger guys impressed at the Hornet’s team camp earlier in the summer.

Copan begins its season against Midway on Zero Week. We will have Kallenberger with all the other area football coaches this fall on Saturday’s Coaches Breakfast Broadcast. Live from Chick-Fil-A in Bartlesville at 7:00 on KWON and KWONTV.com.
