Bartlesville High softball its onto its second week of scrimmages after the Lady Bruins opened their first exhibition game action this past weekend.

Bartlesville returns seven regular position players off a team that made the 6A State Tournament for the first time in a decade. However, even with all that firepower expected in the everyday lineup, pitching might be the biggest buoy for BHS this fall.

Head coach Kyle Minton says he expects his rotation to keep Bartlesville competitive in every game.

Kelsie Yales was Bartlesville’s main starter last season. She was the starter in the Lady Bruin’s State Tourney loss to Owasso, going eight innings. She allowed just two hits and two runs in an ultimate extra-inning loss.

It isn’t just Yales that has Minton excited about his team’s pitching. Allison Rosson and others will give him plenty of options this fall.

Bartlesville will begin its actual season in two weeks. BHS went 28-12 last year. Minton will be in his seventh season with BHS this fall.
