Oklahoma Union Cougar football is turning up the heat as the summer continues, with the countdown on until kickoff.

OKU is riding into 2025 with first year head coach Bruce Munden.

Munden talked about the progression he's seen from his group.

The Cougars went 3-7 last year in the final season under Steven Trammell. This year's schedule has the exact same outlook as last year's, with Colcord awaiting on opening night.

The Cougars, a Class A program, fell to one of 2A's top schools last year on opening night, 40-9. Colcord went 11-2 last year, including a win over 3A Sequoyah (Claremore), before an exit in the third round of the playoffs.

Despite losing a lot of pieces from last year's team, Munden says it's still the same Colcord.

OKU opens against Colcord on Aug. 29.
