Bartlesville’s summer baseball team dropped its second-to-last home game of the season on Wednesday night, as the Doenges Toyota Indians will wrap up the home portion of its schedule this evening.

Good game, but the Indians fell to DBAT Tulsa, 8-6 in the qualifying rounds of the Stan Musial World Series. Bartlesville could not overcome a couple of untimely errors.

DBAT Tulsa scored seven runs in the first three innings and had only four of their eight runs total earned on the evening.

Tulsa scored two in the first, two in the second and three more in the third.

Bartlesville got the bats going, too. The Indians trailed 4-0 before scoring five in the bottom of a marathon second inning. Jaxon Zaun had the big base knock in the frame.

Zaun took home our Kevin Lynch RE/MAX Player of the Game award with three base hits on the night.

However, the brief 5-4 Indian lead would not hold. Three more runs in the third coming on two B-Ville errors gave Tulsa the lead for good.

Former Doenges Ford Indian and Bartlesville Bruin Alan Covarrubias was back in an Indian uniform for the first time in three years. Covarrubias is still with Oklahoma Wesleyan and he served as a guest collegiate pitcher last night.

This strikeout stranded a runner in the fourth.

Despite allowing only one run in the final four frames, Bartlesville couldn’t complete the comeback. The loss effectively eliminates the Indians from contention for the semifinals of the Stan Musial World Series.

Still one more pool play game on Thursday, and its the final home game of the 2025 sesaon, a 7:00 first pitch against Tulsa Sandlot in a game we will carry on KWON and KWONTV.com.
