Freedom Fest just ended a few weeks and the Bartlesville Kiwanis Club are now kicking off its "Christmas in July" campaign by announcing plans for two major community events this holiday season: the annual Bartlesville Christmas Parade and the festive Celebrate Giving – Spotlight on the Stars.

The Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m., with the theme “Home for the Holidays.” This year’s Grand Marshal is Charlene Dew, with major sponsorship from Skyway Honda (Presenting Sponsor), Sutterfield Financial Group (Grand Marshal Sponsor), and Jane Phillips Medical Center – Ascension as the new First Responders Sponsor.

Parade registration opens August 1 through November 1, offering early bird discounts:

• Business/commercial entries: $50

• Nonprofits: $25

• Premier placement (new): $25

• Extra vehicle fee (new): $20 for groups with more than 10 vehicles

Late registration (after October 31) will increase to $75 for businesses and $35 for nonprofits. All vehicles are required to be decorated with lights—the more, the merrier.

The Kiwanis Club will also host Celebrate Giving – Spotlight on the Stars on Thursday, November 6, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Washington Park Mall. Designed to honor local nonprofits, the event will feature cash prizes for the most creative displays of mission booths and donation containers. Attendees can vote for their favorite organizations by stuffing decorated containers with cash. Additional cash prizes will be tied to door prizes and board member participation.

Both events aim to spread holiday cheer while supporting community organizations. Registration for both opens August 1.
