The Doenges Toyota Indians are still kicking in the DBAT Regular Season Tournament after a thrilling extra innings win in Midwest City on Monday night.

The Indians beat Woody Meadows Bat Co. in eight innings, 4-2.

After five scoreless innings, the Indians finally struck first in the top of the sixth, thanks to a two-RBI double from Brenden Asher.

Woody Meadows, however, did not go away. After a walk and a hit batter tied the game at two, Woody Meadows had the bases loaded with only one out. Kael Siemers held off Woody Meadows, striking a batter out and forcing a pop-out to send things to extras.

In the top of the eighth inning, the Tribe struck back for two more to regain the lead. The first came on a defensive miscue to score Siemers from second base.

Sam Marcella drew a walk to stretch the lead back to two.

On the mound, Lathe Griggs continued to shine. He struck out twelve over five innings. This one in the first inning stranded the bases loaded for Woody Meadows.

The win sends the Indians to the second round of the DBAT Regular Season Tournament, for a rematch with Tulsa Sandlot. This will be the fifth meeting between the two teams this summer, after splitting two doubleheaders in June.

First pitch on Tuesday night is set for 7 p.m. from Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium. Coverage can be heard on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1, with video coverage on KWONTV.com.
