Bartlesville Police and Tri County Tech continue to partner to train new law enforcement officers across the state.
BPD Deputy Chief Andrew Ward says one academy is wrapping up and another one is set to begin.
The academy is scheduled to run from Aug. 18 through Dec. 10 and will be held at Tri County Tech in Bartlesville.
Classes will be conducted Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ward says this state-certified academy provides essential law enforcement training for individuals seeking to begin or advance a career in policing. Cadets will undergo comprehensive instruction in areas such as criminal law, patrol procedures, firearms, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations and community policing.
Upon successful completion of the academy, graduates will be eligible for certification as peace officers in the State of Oklahoma.
Applications are currently being accepted. For more information about the academy, including enrollment requirements and deadlines, contact Kyle Ppool at 918-331-3240.
