EDIT 11:30 AM - Bartlesville's games for Thursday have been called off.

The start to the busiest stretch of the summer for the Doenges Toyota Indians kicked off in style on Wednesday night, as Bartlesville’s summer baseball team hosted the ETEAM out of Oklahoma City for two games.

The contests kick off five straight days of Tribe baseball in downtown Bartlesville, as KWON held its annual Night at the Ballpark in game one.

The Indians split the twin bill, winning game one 10-5 and falling 7-1 in game two.

Game one was marked by clutch hitting. The Indians scored eight of their 10 runs with two outs. Bartlesville got three big two-out base knocks that essentially won the Indians the game.

The first came off the bat of Eddie Rice in a four-run fourth inning that gave B-Ville its first lead of the contest.

After the Tribe surrendered the lead in the top of the fifth, ETEAM left the door open for Bartlesville following a defensive miscue on an infield popup.

One pitch later the most-notable member of the program, fifth-year Indian and ORU Golden Eagle Brenden Asher blew the door open with the biggest swing of the day.

Grant Clark got the win on the mound, the former Bruin went the first four innings in game one, while OKWU product Zachariah Ray slammed the door shut getting the final nine outs.

In game two, Bartlesville struggled more with the bats. The Indians only had one run on three hits. ETEAM swung it well, getting five extra base hits and tallying 12 overall in the win.

The lone Indian run came off the fourth hit and RBI of the day from Brett Eaves.

Three more days of baseball upcoming in downtown Bartlesville, as the Indians will next play a single nine-inning game on Friday night for RE/MAX night at the Ballpark.

Another contest on Friday we will carry on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and. 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
