Pawhuska Still Cleaning Up From Catastrophic Windstorm

Just over a week ago, Pawhuska suffered a major windstorm that they are still in the process of cleaning up from. At Tuesday evening's special city council meeting, city manager Jerry Eubanks spoke on the quick response that night and the recovery effort since then.

Eubanks said the Tuesday night storm came in two waves. Eubanks said once the first one passed, he was able to get crews out in town and pick up a majority of the debris. When looking at the radar, Eubanks said it looked like the second wave wasn't going to be as bad, but that wasn't the case.

For the people looking for an answer as to how Eubanks and the electric crews were deciding about which parts of town should get power restored first, here is what he had to say.

Eubanks says there are trees that got uprooted and limbs that were blown over that he never thought would have been damaged. This is one of many reasons Eubanks says it will be a long road to recovery.

Eubanks thanked the crews who came in to help get the power restored and those who work for the City of Pawhuska as well.
