Pawhuska Residents to Vote on Ward System

At Tuesday evening's special city council meeting in Pawhuska, action was taken to set an election date that would possibly change the way in which voting is done in Pawhuska.
As things stand now, voters within Pawhuska city limits can vote for any council member they wish to, no matter which ward the voter lives in. After the formation of a charter review committee and their engagement with the community, they feel as though it could be best to make some changes.
Mayor Steve Tolson said this was something the council needed to take action on quickly.
A resolution will be signed on Tuesday making Tuesday, October 14th the date of that election. The vote to hold the election passed 3-1. Council member Mark Buchanan was the lone no vote.
