The Doenges Toyota Indians evened their record in Arkansas and stayed alive for a tournament title after picking up a Friday-night win in the Twin Lakes Classic.

The Indians beat Mountain Home Macleod 6-4 behind several solid pitching outings.

Bartlesville got a great outing from Lathe Griggs, a save from Sam Marcella and just enough offense to outlast a younger homestanding Mountain Home club.

Despite trailing 3-0 early, Bartlesville scored five runs of its own in the top of the third to get the Indians first win in the Natural State. The five runs would end up being enough, but things got dicey in the seventh. Macleod loaded the bases and scored a run in the final frame before Marcella was called to get the final out of the game.

Marcella also accounted for two of the six Indian base hits. Eddie Rice extended his hit streak to seven and drove in a run for the second straight day.

This knock helped Bartlesville tack on a needed insurance run late.

Griggs helped keep the game within reach. Despite giving up three inherited runners, he struck out seven over four frames to pick up the win. Eli Winters also tossed a scoreless inning on the mound.

Offensively the Indians got six hits, Kael Siemers also had a multi hit game.

The victory keeps Bartlesville alive for a spot in the semis of the tournament. In all likelihood a win on Saturday will advance the Tribe to Sunday bracket play. Another 5:00 first pitch from Mountain Home against Bakersfield, Missouri.

Another game we will carry for you on KWON and KWONTV.com.
