Cornerstone Classical Academy's High School Leadership Academy Program Prepares for Year Two

Appearing on COMMUNITY CONNECTION,Dale Willis and Sarah Walton described Cornerstone Classical Academy's High School Leadership Academy program as a groundbreaking initiative offering a comprehensive curriculum that blends academic instruction in History with Christian leadership principles and studies of exemplary leaders.
Dale and Sarah recapped the first year of the program. Well, we wrapped up our initial, our launch year for the Leadership Academy this past year. Sarah and I both teach that. That went really, really well.
Dale said, "I had nine students all together, a couple of part-times that came and went, but did really well with that. Got out in the community, did a lot of great things and really paid off big, I believe. Our students loved it." He added, "Their parents loved it, and we're excited about year two."
Sarah said,"It was an amazing year. We were able to look at some people in history. We were able to give kids examples of great leaders throughout history. We were able to get out in the community and visit different businesses, different leaders there. We were able to get our kids a couple of different internship opportunities that were really great for them" She added, "We had one who was really interested in being a vet tech, and so we were able to place her with an internship at a local vet."
Both said that they were able to connect with Phillips and their internship program and others. They aggreed the program made some great steps this year, and it should continue on into next year.
"Students will actively apply leadership skills through hands-on activities, guest speakers, and tours of local businesses," Willis explained. He highlighted the program's emphasis on mentorships and internships, which will enrich each student's learning journey, equipping them with the knowledge and competencies necessary to excel in leadership roles.
Cornerstone Classical Academy is an ICAA accredited institution serving PreK - 12th grade and is built upon foundational principles of classical education. Classical education gives students the tools of learning needed in order to think well, and for Christian classical educators, the end goal of thinking well is Godly wisdom. Furthermore, classical education, a time-tested approach to learning, is designed to delight and inspire.
