Shelby said, "The pageant is a 25-minute historical play celebrating Dewey founder Jacob Bartles and his wife Nanny. It promises to be entertaining, fast-paced, humorous, and informative with a cast of 18 local actors." She added, "Notable characters include Jake and Nanny Bartles, Tom and Olive Mix, Emmett Dalton and his wife Julia, some owboys, hotel staff, and others from Dewey’s past."
The Dewey Hotel Museum was once part of Indian Territory, the hotel has been a museum since 1966. Sears said, "The Dewey Hotel is an attraction for tourists. It's well-preserved furnishings and artifacts from early Oklahoma history make is a 'must-see."
This historical pageant marks the first time the hotel is hosting a theatrical speaking event.
