Indians Baseball Drops Home Opener

The Doenges Toyota Indians fell in their home opener on Friday night at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium to the Kansas Curve, 7-0.
 
Similar to Tuesday night's game against the same Curve club, the Indians stayed in it until the later innings. They trailed 2-0 after four innings before the Curve tacked on five runs between the fifth and seventh.
 
The bats were better on Friday night compared to Tuesday, the Indians finished with three hits. Liam Buchanan had two of them. 
 
Grant Clark got the start, he pitched four innings, allowed two earned runs on three hits and struck out two. He picked his first strikeout up to end the top of the third.
 
The Indians also got innings from Eli Winters and Lathe Griggs.
 
The Indians struggled defensively, they finished with four errors. Aside from the struggles, there were bright spots, including this double play that Bryce Leulf turned himself.
 
The Indians with the loss drop to 0-2 this summer. There are some schedule changes after Friday's game, the Indians will play a doubleheader on Saturday against the DFW Ravages.
