A pedestrian from Collinsville was killed late Wednesday night in a collision involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 169 inside the Tulsa city limits, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
James Sgroi, 42, of Collinsville, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck around 9:37 p.m. on northbound U.S. 169, approximately three-tenths of a mile north of 56th Street North, troopers said.
Sgroi was struck by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Dillon Adamson, 36, of Claremore, and a 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by Vendel Mayer, 88, of Owasso. Neither driver was injured, and no passengers were in either vehicle.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Troopers said weather and roadway conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash. All involved were reported to be in apparently normal condition, and seatbelts were in use.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
