Copan Man Facing Felony Sex Offender Charge

A Copan man is facing a felony charge after allegedly failing to register as a sex offender.
37-year-old William Wald was charged on Thursday with one count of failing to register as a sex offender.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, on May 20, officers responded to a possible burglary at a residence in Copan. When officers arrived on the scene, Wald allegedly gave police a different name other than his.
When Wald gave the correct name to authorities, police discovered that Wald had allegedly failed to register as a sex offender in Oklahoma.
Wald will appear in court again on June 13 at 9 a.m. His bond is set at $5,000.
