Dewey Man Charged With Domestic Abuse by Strangulation

A Dewey man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling someone.
 
35-year-old Daniel Thurman was charged on Monday with domestic assault and battery by strangulation.
 
According to the Dewey Police Department, Thurman allegedly got upset with the victim that he was not able to use their car. Thurman was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. After not being able to drive the victim's car, Thurman allegedly placed his hands on the victim's neck and pushed the victim in their chair.
 
Thurman was convicted in 2014 of domestic assault and battery. He also faces a felony charge from April 2025 for leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury.
 
Thurman will appear in court again on May 23 at 9 a.m. His bond is set as an aggregate bond between the two pending felony charges of $75,000.
