Bruin Baseball Gets Thrilling Win

Bartlesville High baseball pulled a rabbit out of the hat on Monday night, in a late comeback victory in a crucial home game against Union.

The Bruins took game one of a two-game set against the Redhawks, 4-3, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win it.

Bartlesville, down one, took five walks in the seventh to score two to win it. Cooper Swaim took the final one that walked it off.

It was a very Bruin-like win, for a team that has consistently found ways to get it done over the past month. Bartlesville only had four hits but made the most of its opportunities through free passes, moving runners and timely hitting.

Kaden Romesburg dazzled on the mound once again. The senior in his final start at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium tossed all seven frames. He gave up only three hits. Union scored two of its runs on one play in the sixth, with the bases loaded the Redhawks scored two on a suicide squeeze.

BHS got its second run to take an 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third off this Romesburg single.

The win moves BHS to 18-14 on the year and 7-6 in 6A-4 District action. Bartlesville can assure itself fourth place in the District with a sweep and a win in Union on Tuesday.

Another 6:00 scheduled first pitch on KWON and KWONTV.com, weather pending. If anything changes weather-wise we’ll pass it along.
