BHS Golf in Frontier Valley Tourney

Bartlesville High boys golf just had their first tournament of the year, as the Bruins finished 13th as a team at the Frontier Valley Conference meet in Tulsa. The Bruins finished just ahead of Ponca City and behind Bixby.
Head coach Carl Holmes says the direction of the program with some young stars is exciting.
As is expected this season, two youngsters led the way. Freshman Carter Sauer led the team going eight over par. Meanwhile sophomore Jay Wasemiller was one shot back. Both finished in the top-21 of the event individually.
Holmes can only play so many guys at each tournament. He says those lineups will change a lot because of the Bruin’s depth.
This was the first real competition of the spring for boy’s golf, because of an added number of events in the fall.
