KWON continues to wrap up the 2024-25 Bartlesville High boy’s season.

The Bruins were in their first year with head coach Tommy DeSalme, who was hired nearly a year ago.

DeSalme won three games in his Bruin debut, the same number of wins BHS had the year prior, but with a much younger group. Bartlesville only had one senior on this year’s roster with a gaggle of freshman.

After coming from decades in junior college basketball, DeSalme says coaching high school is same in many ways and different in others. He talks about some of the differences after spending a year at the prep level.

DeSalme often talks about the consistent desire to work hard. He says regardless of the talent level the Bruins have, if more guys will buy into wanting to work every day, then Bartlesville basketball can get back to the success it had from the late 80s to the mid-2000s.
